We are delighted to invite you to the launch of the Barrow 125 Exhibition!
This is the start of a year long series of events , celebrating a hundred and twenty-five years of Barrow AFC and much, much more. The launch takes place at The Dock Museum on Friday 17th July, between 4.30 and 6.30.
The history of Barrow AFC is the history of Barrow and vice versa. It’s the year the first ever Royal Navy submarine, The Holland, was launched from our shipyard. Queen Victoria died, Marconi made the first transatlantic signal and the Boer War was taking place. A shipyard foreman, engineer and inventor J.H Hind called a meeting at the Old Drill Hall in the Strand on July 16th 1901. Barrow AFC was born.
We tell the story through the use of artefact, supporter voice, displays and mixed media. As space is limited, we have divided the time time into two ‘sessions’. Please indicate by using the booking form https://forms.gle/nN7b52ucdrsAwNBR8Â which one you would prefer.
We look forward to seeing you.
Best Wishes,
The Barrow 125 team.
