A message from Trust Chair, Steve Herbert.
Just a quick update to let people know how things are going:
Easter Eggs- Around 100 Easter Eggs were donated by Barrow fans and local schools and went to the Food Bank. Thanks to all who donated and Craig Rutherford from BAFC in the Community for collecting and delivering.
Community- There is a sum of money raised from the raffle ready for the Community to draw down at any time. Already this season, money raised by you has paid for training kit and gear.
Trust Tickets- If anyone would like to nominate organisations, teams, individuals or families for tickets please get in touch at any time, either by PMing or asking on here, or by e-mailing info@www.bluebirdstrust.co.uk . Even today, we were lucky enough to receive a donation from Mike Wilson from this forum for 2 adults and 2 children for Saturday- some of the support we receive from those who can’t attend but others can is a great help .
We don’t plan to do a whole ‘schools’ giveaway again this season (both were extremely successful but also costly) but plan for next season. It has been easily the most successful year. Your ticket donations are ring fenced and much appreciated, we watch the expenditure very carefully and appreciate the work the club has done thos year to support this and help it run smoothly, Ryan and Craig in particular a great help.
Travel- This has been the most difficult season travel wise since the inception of the ISC 10 years ago. Many southern games, a difficult run, no cup days out, postponements and rising bus costs are all contributing factors. We are running at a manageable loss, but are balancing that with one of the core purposes of the Trust which is to support fans to follow Barrow AFC. The club really need the away support in this situation so we are pulling out the stops to run some of the buses..even to Bromley on the Tuesday- so if anyone thinks they might fancy going, this is really the time to support it. Can I also remind fans that under 14s go free with an accompanying adult.
K2B/C2B- Please do support the walking teams led by Al and Dave, as well as two great charities, St Mary’s Hospice and Cancer Research, the walkers are raising money for our own Trust Tickets Scheme, for which we are very grateful.
Tournaments- There will be a football tourney again this year and also hopefully a pool competition.
