Barrow Independent Supporters Society Ltd (“The Bluebirds Trust”),
I am writing to advise that the Annual General Meeting of the Bluebirds Trust (“AGM”) will
be held on Saturday 29 October at the Crossbar, SO Legal Stadium, Wilkie Road, Barrow in
Furness, Cumbria, LA14 5UW, on Saturday 29 October 2022 at 11.00am. The AGM will
follow the format of previous years: a formal notice of the AGM will follow in due course
with details of the business to be discussed and resolutions to be proposed. Meantime, as in
prior years, we are inviting members , should they wish to do so, to stand for election to the
Trust Board and to propose any resolutions that they would like to put forward at the AGM.
Board Elections.
The Board currently has 9 members. In accordance with Trust rules, three of the current
Board members will resign immediately prior to the AGM. The Directors resigning are :
Mr Steve Herbert
Mr Matthew Messenger
Mr Stuart Nichols
All three of the resigning board members are standing for re-election.
In addition, any members wishing to stand for nomination for the Board can join the
election process provided they observe the following rules:
• Any person wishing to be a candidate for election to the Society Board must be a fully
paid-up member of the Society and be nominated by at least one other fully paid-up
member of the Society.
• A signed letter of nomination from a member, or email from the address a member has
given the Secretary are acceptable substitutes for a signature on the candidate's nomination
form.
Candidates are also asked to supply a statement of no more than 1000 words which outlines
their reasons for standing and the skills that they are able to offer the Trust These
statements will be sent to members ahead of the AGM.
The deadline for nominations is midnight on Friday 7 October 2022. Nominations should be

emailed to info@bluebirdstrust.co.uk
Once all of the nominations have been received, the Membership Secretary will confirm
which of the nominees are eligible for election by midnight on Monday 10th October 2022.
The maximum number of Board members is 12. Currently there are 9 Board members
directors. If there are more nominees than vacancies, an election will be held at the AGM
itself, and each of the Nominees will be invited to make a presentation.
AGM Resolutions
Any member wishing to raise a resolution at the AGM or raise any other item for discussion
at that meeting, should do so in writing to the Secretary including the justification for and
form and content of the resolution at the addresses given below before Friday 7 th October
2022.
