Members of the Trust will have received the following notice this week. We are posting it here for reference.
Dear Member(s) of the Barrow Independent Supporters Society Ltd, (trading as The Bluebirds Trust),
I am writing to advise that the Annual General Meeting of the Barrow Independent Supporters Society (trading as the Bluebirds Trust) will be held on Monday 23nd November 2020 at 7pm. The meeting will be broadcast online (link to be published on the Trust website and publicised to members).
As we embark on our first season back in the Football League, the Trust’s Directors and volunteers have been busy in all manner of ways – from assisting with the Ground Maintenance Volunteers to running the Virtual Russ raffles. As a Trust we’re always looking for additional help from the membership and we ask that anybody who feels they have the ideas, skills and time to assist the Trust should put themselves forward for election to the Trust Board.
In addition to the regular Trust Board elections, this year we are seeking a volunteer to be the Trust Representative on the board of directors of Barrow Bluebirds Limited. This person will also serve on the Trust Board.
Further information on the roles and responsibilities of those elected to the Trust Board can be found online at https://bluebirdstrust.co.uk/documents/ or contact info@bluebirdstrust.co.uk or speak to any current board member if you have any questions about the roles.
Those persons wishing to stand for nomination for the election must observe the following rules:
- Any person wishing to be a candidate for election to the Society Board must be a fully paid-up member of the Society and be nominated by at least one fully paid-up member of the Society.
- A signed letter of nomination from a member, or email from the address a member has given the Secretary are acceptable substitutes for a signature on the candidate’s nomination form.
The deadline for nominations is midnight on Monday 19th October 2020.
Nominations should be sent to: The Election Management Group c/o, David Ingham, 5 Clarksfield Road, Bolton le Sands, Carnforth, LA5 8JE or davidingham@holker.st
Once all of the nominations have been received, the Election Management Group will confirm that the nominees are eligible for election by midnight on Monday 26th October 2020.
Candidates will then be asked to supply a statement of 400-1000 words which outlines their reasons for standing and the skills that they are able to offer. These statements, along with the voting forms will be sent to members ahead of the AGM.
Any member wishing to raise a resolution at the AGM or raise any other item for discussion at that meeting, should do so in writing to the Secretary including the justification for, form and content of the resolution at the addresses given below before Monday 19th October 2020.
Full rules of the Society and Supporting Policies are available on request to the Secretary.
Kind regards,
Anya
